Easter Camp is Dynamite

For three days over the Easter holidays Bangor Leisure Centre hosted the Carnalea Easter Karate Camp.

Children from across Ards and North Down attended. Every day consisted of games, fitness, kata fighting, self-defence and of course was lots of fun.

The final day saw a hotly contested Tag-Team match between the following teams: Bonkers, Floppy Fish, Karate Kids, and Dynamite.

All students took part and there were exceptional performances from Kurtis Graham, Lucy Oldfield, Tori Patterson, Kate Bradley, Jamie Mayne and Dean Miller.

The final scores on the day were Floppy Fish and Bonkers joint third on seven points, the Karate Kids a valiant second on ten points, but the outright victory going to Dynamite on fourteen points. No-one ever said karate sparring is easy.

Competition like this develops self-confidence in students. There are always winners and losers, but at Carnalea Karate Clubs, on days like this everyone is a winner. Gold medals were presented to the winners, and silver and bronze to all of the other children.
