Summer Fighting Fun at Carnalea

Last Saturday at Carnalea Methodist Centre, there were screams, shouts, punches, kicks, but no blood...all part of the excitement of summer training with the Mizukara Karate clubs. Some 30 students from Scrabo and Carnalea karate clubs came together for a bash-up.

As always, it was all very well controlled by the coaches; David Brashaw & Sam Lewis. Students were given a Karate England style competition warm-up, some skills and drills and then were let loose with the sparring; all fully protected with mitts, gum shields, chest guards etc.

It was a great day and one that was thoroughly enjoyed by both students and coaches.

Students are now getting ready for the start of the competition calendar and others are working towards their next belt in karate.
